My January clear out challenge!

simple january declutter challenge.png

This month I had decided to get rid of a minimum of five things a day from home. Like most of us, I just have too much stuff. And it ranges from an old vacuum that works, but I just don’t use, old makeup up that isn’t the right shade, or clothes my baby has outgrown.

So every day in January I am committing to donating, tossing or giving away at least five things.

Some days I will do more than others.

On New Years day I got rid of two boxes of diapers (given to a friend), two bags of baby clothes (to a friend), one box of clothes all of my children had outgrown (to the thrift store) and an old vacuum that works, but I don’t use (also thrifted).

There are no rules to this challenge. But I will be posting to my Instagram stories daily showing you what I got rid of that day.

Have a plan for where things will go!

For things that aren’t leaving my house right away, I will put them in a box and on the following Monday drive them to the thrift store. For things that I know who I am giving them to I will put them in my van RIGHT AWAY so they don’t sit around my house. (If you have small children do this. My toddler loves to take things out of bags and throw them everywhere.)

Here are some other posts that might motivate you.
