Giving away: Crochet Infinity Scarf from The Refugee Project

Each month I get giddy with anticipation when I know my Fair Trade Friday Box is coming.

If you don't know what Fair Trade Friday is, it's a nonprofit that works to empower impoverished women around the world by providing them with job opportunities. Each month three or four artisan products arrive on my door step. They range from coffee to beautiful beaded necklaces. This month this GORGEOUS scarf arrived.

This crocheted scarf is made by The Refugee Project. A Texas-based organization that  sells artisan goods created by refugee women of Burma, Bhutan and Nepal who have been relocated to Houston, Texas by the United Nations for religious and ethnic persecution.

"By purchasing an item, you are empowering women by helping them meet some of their basic needs." - The Refugee Project.

Most of the women working with and through The Refugee Project spend 5-20 years in a refugee camp.

I thought this scarf would make a great giveaway item, so I am personally giving this scarf away.

This scarf would be perfect for a cold winter day. Be sure to enter and share this with your friends.
