Three things I do to ensure a great week: Tips for busy working moms
/Whew! Who knew spring was such a busy season. I bet you did, because you are probably a pro at this life thing by now.
Let’s talk about a few things that we can do to make your week go by a little bit more smoothly:
Check that planner!
Go over your calendar and see what big things you have going on this week and then share them with your spouse, have he or she sure their calendar with you so that you get a good idea what that week is going to look like.
I write down everything, reoccurring appointments, piano lessons, my husband’s schedule- so that way I can plan the rest of my week accordingly.
This is helpful because:
I know where we need to be and what time.
If I need to make appointments I know where we are free.
I know if my husband will be unavailable.
I can plan errands around appointments.
Make a meal plan
Take 15 minutes and plan your meals for the week. See what you have in your pantry and in your freezer and in your fridge and see what meals you can make around those things and then make a grocery shopping list if you need to.
Having a meal plan ready to go really helps save my sanity.
Plus:
I save time by. I am convinced having a meal plan gives me hours of my life back because I now what steps come next and I am not wondering what we will eat.
It saves us money because we are not ordering out.
It’s healthier because we are not eating fast food.
It reduces waste because food doesn’t rot in the fridge because it didn’t get cooked.
Plan some outfits
Make sure that you have enough clean clothes to get through the week. Do some laundry if you need to, fold some things, hang up what you need and go ahead and lay out your clothes for Monday morning.
All this will take you an hour maybe two, but will guarantee a smoother and more stress-free week.
