What do I but at Sam’s?

I got a Sam's Club membership. Yes, I know I have said in previous videos that I thought that club memberships are a waste of money -- but I got one. I've had it for like a year now and I love it.

I've realized that going the club route actually has saved me some money now that I have more children and those children are getting older. But when I had, like, two small babies -- totally not worth the money.

Today I wanted to tell you a few items to buy at club stores -- like Costco and Sam's and BJ's -- that are the best bang for your buck.

I think the problem that we run into with these club stores is you got to pay to shop there. What? That doesn't make sense. But if you're going to use it a lot and you're going to shop smart, you will recoup your cost very quickly.

However, it's really easy to go overboard. You walk in the store and you're like "Yes! I need a giant 32-foot unicorn float." "I need a case of cupcakes and 14 vats of coconut oil." Girl, slow down.

Coconut oil is often a good buy at these club stores, but I wanted to tell you the things that I've seen that have been the most "money-saving."

1. Bakery items like bread, hamburger buns, hotdog buns

You can get the Dave's Rockstar bread, which is fantastic and loaded with great ingredients. I think you can get two rolls of it at my local Sam's for right around $4, which is way cheaper than just your standard grocery store.

Summer -- barbecue season -- it’s a great time to stock up on hamburger buns, hotdog buns. Those things freeze, so if you don't use them right away, that's okay, you can stick them in the freezer. But buying breads and stuff at these club stores is way less expensive than at a grocery store.

2. Baking supplies

If you make your own bread -- flour, yeast, sugar, those types of things are way less expensive per ounce and per pound than at your standard supermarket. You can also stock up on things like Real Vanilla, chocolate chips, oils and butters -- any sort of baking supplies that you need if you're an avid baker.

3. Laundry detergents

The price per ounce of laundry detergent at a Costco or a Sam's is way less expensive than even at Walmart. Yes, you have to buy it in bulk, but it's not like it's going to expire. And if you're like me, you'll use it pretty fast.

4. Technology

Now the camera I use for my YouTube channel actually came from Amazon, but the camera that I previously used came from Sam's. I loved it because, if for some reason there was a problem, I could take it back to the store; I didn't have to worry about shipping it. They had a really awesome return policy.

I could pick it up and look at it and make sure that it had the features. This is part of my job, using my camera for my blog and my business and YouTube. This is part of my income, so I need to make sure that I have the right equipment, I have what I need, and that I'm able to go talk to someone about it. So for me, at the time, buying my camera there was a great idea.

You can often save money on things like laptops and cameras. Priced way less expensive than Best Buy or Amazon.

5. Tires

If you need tires, head to Costco because you're going to save some money. Do your shopping while you're there.

6. Bulk produce

Things like strawberries, grapes, oranges, apples. Way less per ounce and per item than the supermarket. And if your kids are like mine, that's not going to last long anyway.
