How seriously should we take life insurance?

I recently got the following question off Instagram:

"I recently had a baby and I'm going to be transitioning into a full time stay at home mom. Because of that we're looking at cutting our budget where we can and I'm wondering if I should keep my life insurance policy? My husband has one through work and I don't know if I should hang onto mine outside of his job. Is it worth having because I don't have an income to replace?"

This is a great question and there are lot of things to discuss.

I understand the desire to cut down on expenses during this transition.

But I am going to throw it out there and say that yes, even as a stay at home mom you still need life insurance.
