Our summer stack! What's on my kids' summer reading list
/Summer is a great time to squeeze in extra reading. We are big readers here, but something about the long, lazy days of summer just calls for a good and exciting book.
I thought I would share some of what is on my kids’ reading list. They will read other books, in fact I have a hard time keeping up with my oldest son and his demand for new library books.
But here are some fun ones we are reading together.

The One and Only Ivan.
This is the story of a gorilla who lives in a shopping mall and the adventures he has when he meets a new friend named, Ruby.
Tuesdays in the Castle.
Every Tuesday the Glower Castle changes, rearranging itself and surprising both guests and occupants. One day with the king and queen disappear, and the youngest princess named Celie, must save the castle and her family from a threatening kingdom.
The Secret of the Scrolls series
My kids adore these books. We read a chapter a day and they beg me to keep reading. Peter and Mary are siblings who go on adventures to Bible times to solve the mystery of the scrolls.
The Questioneers:
Rosie Revere and the Raucous Riveters
Rosie is an engineer unafraid to flop. Until her inventions keep failing and she needs the help of her Aunt Rose (a fun-loving WW2 airplane mechanic) and friends.
Ada Twist and the Perilous Pants
Ada Twist asks a lot of questions and wants a lot of answers. When she and her friend Rosie Revere have to help save her Uncle Ned from his famous helium pants, adventure ensues.
These are just a few of the books we will be reading this summer. I’d love to hear about some of yours!
