/Schools out for the summer! (Did you just sing that? Because I did.” Things are heating up, and the days are long and you might want to fill those days with fun activities. And that’s fine. (Although slow days are important too!)
But summer activities can have a HUGE drain on your wallet. So here are some free or super cheap things to do with your kids this summer.
Go to cheap movies.
I’m not talking about paying full price to see the latest block buster. I’m talking about free or cheap summer moves. Regal cinemas has $1 movies, Premier Theater offers a similar deal and AMC offers $4 movies that include a drink and popcorn.
Call your local theatre to get times and information.
Get a free Taco (possibly June 18)
Taco Bell is offering a possible free Doritos Los Tacos during the NBA finals. You can get the details here.
Go skating for free
Does your kid LOVE to skate? Mine do. Why not skate for free? You can sign your child up for a free skating pass. The times are usually limited, but it is free.
Kids bowl for free

Get free Chick Fil A (July 10)

Free activities at Bass Pro Shops
These are always fun and my boys have always loved them. Bass Pro Shops offers some really fun family activities during the summer. These include free games and crafts, a family photo and prizes.
Get free LEGO plans
Unfortunately, the LEGO Shops have concluded their in store build days, which is so sad. But they are offering downloadable building plans for kids. You can get those here.
Go to the zoo
Many public libraries offer free zoo tickets for your family to “check out” see if yours offers that. Also there are free zoo days around the country this summer. Get more info here.
