Five Great Christmas Crafts for Kids

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Okay, well here in South Alabama it looks like every other day, but all the decorations count, right?
My little boy is still too small to do Christmas crafts, although the other day he did finger paint some cute little gift bags for family who are getting gift cards for Christmas. It turned out super sweet and he liked having the paint on his fingers.
I am excited to one day do all the Christmas things with my boy, make cookies, decorate the tree, and of course, make crafts!
SO here are some great Christmas craft ideas for kids.
1. Rudolph Apron. This is actually an apron my sister and I made for our mama. (The tiny footprint on the left is my boy's!) My sister came up with the idea, and it was super, super easy. Just purchase a plain apron and use brown craft paint to stamp your child's footprint. This can be done at any age, our children ranged from 10 months to five years.
2. Thumbprint ornaments. Again, this comes from my super crafty sister. (She got the craft gene.) Clear glass ornaments can be purchased really cheap at Hobby Lobby (although when I went yesterday they were OUT!) or Amazon and Michael's.

3. Handprint Wreath. This is actually one I can do with little bits and will probably be doing sometime this weekend.
4. Modge Podge fabric covered ornament- The Modge Podge Rocks Blog has this super cute idea of using Christmas fabric to cover an ornament. You could also use wrapping paper. This is a great craft for preschoolers (age 3-4) through adults.
5. Coffee Creamer Container Snow Man. I have seen this done several different ways. One year my sister made one into a piggy bank so my sweet nephew could collect money to buy a radio for the missionaries. It's very simple. Just take an old coffee creamer container and decorate and paint.
The great thing about Christmas crafts is that they don't have to cost much. You can make them with things you already have, or items purchased at the Dollar Tree.
