I love being at home with my boys. I wouldn't trade this sweet time for anything in the world. But sometimes spending all your time in the baby and toddler world means you are out of touch with what is going on in other parts of the world. 

First, my youngest son, Issie, doesn't sleep. It's getting better but he has never slept through the night. At eight months I can count on one hand the nights he has slept more than five hour straight. It's been tough. 

It's been seven plus months since we brought Issie home. And I wish I could say that I have it all together, that our days are super productive and organized and everyone is always happy and blissfully singing songs of joy. I am keeping it real. 

I have a confession in the three (plus) months since my second son was born, Ry (as I'm calling him here) has spent a lot of time watching PBS Kids. Thank goodness for PBS kids. But he is still watching too much TV. This was in an effort to confine him to one spot while I nursed the baby. 

And no, Issie (as I am calling him here) isn't really on what I would call a schedule, it has gotten easier to find ways to occupy my sweet Ry while I feed Issie. 

In a perfect world ever woman will go into labor at the perfect time. It will be like a ROM COM, your water breaks, you yell, "it's time" and you go to the hospital where you labor in peace, complication free and go home looking like you did your freshman year in college, flat stomach, no eye bags. 

It's so easy to compare yourself, your husband, your home, your children etc. etc. to someone else. I think as women we're hardwired to do it. 

I watch tv of flip through a magazine and I look at women with tiny arms or porefree complextions and I want what they have. I look at homes in magazines and I see how pristine they are and how well decorated they are and I want what they have.
